Jason C. Martiesian
Director of Government Relations

Jason has extensive government relations experience in the public and private sectors in Rhode Island. His roles as a lobbyist representing clients before state legislative and regulatory bodies and as chief of staff to Rhode Island’s Secretary of State make him an effective advocate on a broad range of policy issues.

He began his government relations career advancing the interests of the business community with the Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce where he worked on issues ranging from environmental regulations to labor and healthcare policies.

Jason then went on to serve as vice president of state government affairs at UnitedHealth Group where he managed the company’s legislative and public policy strategies in New England. During this time, Jason engaged with state officials across New England on various implementation issues regarding the Affordable Care Act.

In 2014, Jason joined the senior staff of newly elected Rhode Island Secretary of State Nellie M. Gorbea. As legislative director, he successfully advocated for legislation that strengthened voter access, including automated voter registration, online voter registration, and funding for new state-of-the-art voting equipment. He then served as chief of staff, where he directed the office’s community engagement and strategic initiatives.

Prior to joining CCG, Jason worked as the Assistant Director for Administrative Services at the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training where he advanced the Department’s legislative and budget priorities.

Jason is a graduate of Northeastern University.
